A little borring- pretty traditional, eh?
I really tend to gravitate towards natural colors.
I love giraffes and elephants...
and I think Zebra's are groovy.
Do you think it works???
I don't really have a step-by-step tutorial...
but I thought I could explain my process quickly.
I bought about 8 fat quarters (6 diff. styles) and then tore them into strips.
I laid them out how I liked them and then swept them aside (still in place).
I mod podged on every strip individually.
After it dried I painted the edges (permanent paint) with black and brown marble style.
And once again mod podged the entire canvas.
Growing impatient for it to dry I busted out the hair dryer!
Here I contemplated on what I wanted to add to help break up the "rhythm,"
originally I had three cut outs from a friends circuit ...
but didn't like them afterall.
So... I used the left overs as a stencil... and sponge painted the animals in.
Once dry I'll go back and seal the entire project with a matte finish aerosol sealer.
What do you think?
I think I would have liked it better had I laid the fabric out more collage style.
I'm more of a collage style artist... but this'll have to do. :)
A couple of weeks ago a friend "commissioned" me to cover a boring box.
This is what I came up with...
Mod Podge, how I love thee...
Someone once asked me if I was crafty. I told her "no!" My fingers are too fat. I then explained that I'm more artsy... she then proceeded to laugh and tell me it was all relevant. I guess my fat fingers ARE crafty.
(: Interesting...
